01/Overview
Commercial roofing

A commercial roof is an asset, not an afterthought.

Units, offices, schools, retail and warehouses all carry flat and low-pitch roofs that have to keep a working building dry. We survey, specify and install the right system, then programme the work around how the building is used so trade carries on.

09/FAQs
FAQs

Commercial roofing, common questions.

Do you work around our opening or trading hours?

Yes. Most commercial work is programmed around how the building is used. We can start early, work evenings or weekends, and phase the roof in sections so the business keeps running while we are on site. Request a free commercial roof survey.

Can you carry out roofing while the building stays occupied?

Yes. We regularly re-cover and repair roofs on occupied units, offices, schools and shops. We isolate the working area, protect the space below, and keep escape routes and access clear so staff and visitors are unaffected.

What flat roof systems do you install on commercial buildings?

EPDM single-ply, GRP fibreglass, torch-on felt and cold-applied liquid waterproofing. The right system depends on the size of the roof, the plant and detailing on it, access, and whether the roof will be walked on or carry equipment.

Do you offer planned maintenance for commercial roofs?

Yes. We carry out scheduled inspections, clear outlets and gutters, and fix small faults before they become leaks. Planned maintenance is the cheapest way to protect a commercial roof and to budget for a portfolio of sites.

Are you fully insured for commercial work?

Yes. Clarkson Roofing is fully insured. Manufacturer material warranties apply to the systems we install on top of that, typically 15 to 25 years depending on the specification.

Can you handle roof access, edge protection and site safety?

Yes. We plan safe access, edge protection and welfare for every commercial job, and we work to the site rules of the building you operate. Method statements and risk assessments are provided where required.

Do you work on schools and education sites?

Yes. We roof schools, nurseries and academies, scheduling the noisy or disruptive stages for holidays or out of hours, and working to the safeguarding and sign-in requirements of the site.

How quickly can you attend a commercial roof leak?

For an active leak that is disrupting trade we aim to attend quickly, make the roof safe and watertight, then quote any permanent repair or re-cover separately. We offer emergency support across the region. See our emergency roof repairs.

Which areas do you cover for commercial roofing?

We cover Milton Keynes, Newport Pagnell, Bedford and the surrounding counties, including Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, South Warwickshire and London for larger commercial projects.
